  • Third-party applications, integrations, and AI agents that you authorize to access your account (see “Connected Applications and AI Agents” below)

18. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically.
If changes are material, we will notify you by
email and/or a prominent notice on our website or app.

19. Connected Applications and AI Agents

Ship.com offers interfaces that let you authorize third-party software — including AI assistants and autonomous agents — to access your Ship.com account and act on your behalf. These include our partner REST API and our Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, which can be connected to AI assistant products.

You control whether any such connection exists. Access requires you to complete an authorization flow while signed in to your account and to grant consent. We do not enable third-party access to your account by default.

What an authorized connection can access and do. Once you authorize a connection, that software may act as you, subject to the plan you are on, and may:

  • Read your orders, shipments, tracking status, and order history
  • Read the name, contact, and shipping address information of the customers in your account
  • Read your products, reports, shipping analytics, and account settings
  • Read your postage balance and your shipping transaction history
  • Create and update orders and customer records
  • Purchase shipping labels and schedule carrier pickups, which draw on your postage balance
  • Add funds to your postage balance by charging the payment method you have on file
  • Send email to your customers on your behalf, subject to the limits of your plan

Actions that spend money, cancel a label or an order, or send messages are presented to you for explicit confirmation — together with a preview of the cost or of the number of recipients — before they are carried out.

What we log. For security, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting, we record the name of each operation an authorized connection performs, when it occurred, how long it took, and whether it failed. When an operation fails, we additionally record the parameters of that failed operation so that we can reproduce and fix it; the parameters of successful operations are not recorded. We retain these records for 90 days.

What we do not receive. We do not receive or store the contents of your conversations with a third-party AI assistant, other than the specific parameters that assistant sends us in order to perform an operation you asked for. None of the operations we make available reads an AI assistant’s memory, chat history, conversation summaries, or files you have uploaded to it.

Revoking access. You may disconnect an authorized application at any time from the list of connected applications in your Ship.com settings, or by emailing help@ship.com. Disconnecting revokes that application’s credentials. Credentials also expire on their own: an access credential expires 24 hours after it is issued, and the renewal credential used to obtain new access credentials expires 180 days after it is issued and is replaced each time it is used. Revoking a connection does not delete information the third party already retrieved; you must contact that third party regarding information in its possession.

20. Artificial Intelligence Features

Ship.com offers features that use artificial intelligence to answer your questions, summarize your shipping activity, draft communications, recommend actions, and automate routine tasks.

What is processed. To respond to a request, we send the AI model the information needed to answer it. Depending on the feature, that may include your orders, shipments, tracking information, the names and addresses of your customers, product information, and your account, subscription, and postage balance details.

Who processes it. We use third-party AI infrastructure providers to run these models. Today we use Amazon Web Services (Amazon Bedrock). These providers act as our service providers and are contractually obligated to protect this information and to use it only to provide the service to us. Whether information sent to a provider may be used to develop or improve that provider’s own models is governed by that provider’s terms; we rely on those terms rather than making an independent commitment here. Where permitted by our Terms of Service (see Section 34, Data Rights and Ownership), we may use information — including anonymized, de-identified, or aggregated information — to evaluate, test, train, and improve our own features, algorithms, and models.

What we retain. We keep a record of your interactions with our AI features, including the feature and model used, the operations performed, the cost incurred, and a shortened, redacted excerpt of your request, so that we can measure quality, control cost, troubleshoot problems, and improve the feature. These records are retained in accordance with Section 6.

Human review. These records and AI-generated output may be reviewed by authorized Ship.com personnel for quality, safety, and troubleshooting purposes.

Limits of AI output. Our AI features provide suggestions and information. They are not a substitute for your own review of shipping, tax, or legal decisions.

21. Information About Your Customers

Ship.com is a platform you use to run your own business. In doing so, you import, upload, or create information about your own customers — names, shipping addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, and order details (“Customer Data”).

We process Customer Data on your behalf and at your direction in order to provide the Services to you. That includes rating and purchasing shipping labels, transmitting to carriers the sender and recipient information they require to deliver a shipment, synchronizing orders with the sales platforms you connect, sending messages to your customers that you initiate or schedule, and operating the features you choose to enable, including AI features and connections you authorize under Section 19.

We do not sell, rent, or trade Customer Data.

You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed to provide Customer Data to us, for maintaining your own privacy policy, and for responding to your own customers’ privacy requests. Requests concerning Customer Data, including deletion requests, may be sent to help@ship.com; we will honor them except where we must retain information to comply with legal, tax, carrier, or recordkeeping obligations.
